Valentine’s Day is next month and it’s never too early to start thinking ahead of schedule. It’s a favorite day among romantics young and old. It is a day full of adoration and appreciation. Have your own celebration at home this February 14th. Would you like to bring the fun home but don’t know where to start? We make it easy on you with these ideas and crafts.

Cut out five medium sized hearts from the colored paper for the body of the caterpillar and one big one for the head. Then cut out two tiny hearts that will be used for the antennas. Glue the five medium sized hearts and the large one overlapping onto a sheet of paper. Glue on two googly eyes. Grab the marker and draw legs for your caterpillar along with a smile. Draw two lines for the antenna. Glue the tiny hearts for the antenna on.
Your child can be queen or king for the day with this crown. Flower crowns are very popular at the moment and this version is simple to make and a perfect holiday spin on the trend.

Pink Construction Paper
White Cardstock or Ribbon
Cut out some heart shapes from construction paper. Cut ribbon or cardstock in a long strip or for the base of the crown. Measure your child’s head and fit accordingly. You can tie the ribbon in a bow so it can be taken easily on and off. If you use the cardstock as your crown base, glue the ends of the cardstock strip together. Have your child decorate the hearts for their crown with glitter. After the hearts are done being decorated, glue them around the outside of crown. Let it sit and dry for a while and then it will be ready to wear!
Foam Heart Friendship Necklaces
These necklaces are a great way to bring some love to everyone. Your child can make them for themselves, their family and friends.
Cut yarn in strips that are two to three feet long. Cut heart shapes out of craft foam. Punch out a hole from the foam heart. Have your child thread the yarn through the hole you created. Let them decorate their necklace by stringing beads onto the yarn. Tie the two ends of the yarn together into a knot.
